iCare About the Homeless
Mission/Purpose: To raise awareness in the community on the ongoing issue of homelessness and recruit able and willing volunteers to help combat the problem through community focus meetings, community awareness events, and the iCare About the Homeless 5k Walk.
Objective/Goals: Info: iCare - is a project that assists in correcting the social problems of homelessness, illiteracy, hunger, and poverty. Created in the fall of 2010 by Danielle Leach (author of American Dreamer), iCare was birthed from her own 1st hand experience with being homeless (living out of a hotel), being hungry (soliciting for donations for food, relying on food pantries, churches, and non-profits for food and shelter), and poverty (experiencing the loss of her job which subsequently led to an eviction and the loss of everything she had - including her car).. "God has placed inside of me a great vision, one that primarily serves to give back to a community of people from where I once came...
