Our History
Dream Pathways Foundation is a non-profit initiative, program, and organization (still under development) that arose from a vision Danielle had to launch Dream Pathways Kids, an afterschool and summer camp program. To learn more about the afterschool program, click here. The Foundation was created in the winter of 2010 by Danielle Leach, author of the highly anticipated autobiography, American Dreamer - The Life of Danielle Unveiled. The Foundation orginated from an idea to start an afterschool program and later evolvedinto a community based organization and non-profit initiative designed to enhance the well-being of children, adolescents, and adults living in the United States and abroad. The Foundation can be viewed in terms of a vision which initially sprang from the book, American Dreamer (an autobiography about the trials and triumphs of one African-American dreamer).
Before writing the book, Danielle had begun devoting her time to giving back to her local community. She served as a residential counselor at a local adolescent treatment facility for one full year during her time as a graduate student at her local state university. As a residential counselor, Danielle was able to experience the real joys of her passion of giving back as she spent her time catering to the needs of troubled and abandoned children and teens.
As Danielle completed the manuscript for her debut book, she began to realize that her dreams of truly making a difference in the world weren't too far fetched. As she continued to network and promote her book through the social media and in the streets, her vision began to manifest itself, piece by piece, stage by stage.
Below are a list of the projects currently under development.
